Fertility Clinic Halts Delivery of Designer Babies

Dammit. My plan to design an überbaby has been thwarted... for now.

The Fertility Institutes in Los Angeles, which last month said it would soon help couples select a baby's gender and physical traits when undergoing a form of fertility treatment, has announced it will no longer proceed with the project (via FOXNews.com ) and (The Fertility Institutes).

While it seems that protests involving the underlying ethical problems are the cause of this suspension of service, it might very well be that the Fertility Institutes never had the capability at all.
