Themes and Reflections

I recall telling someone (and being reminded by that someone later on) that my aim in selecting/designing a Wordpress theme for the site was simplicity and clarity of design—I wanted as little as possible to get between the reader and the message. To that end, I settled on a number of themes developed and maintained by Scott Wallick at plaintext.org. If you have followed the site, you'll recognise Barthelme, plaintxtBlog, and this theme, veryplaintxt as those I have published under. I am exceptionally happy with these themes—my only problem has been which to settle upon!

While this is old news, it was news to me when I read this on Scott's site:
In the past year, my involvement with the WordPress community has almost completely dropped off due to time constraints and, frankly, interests in other activities. So with some reservation, I would like to announce the sale of my two WordPress-related domains, plaintxt.org and sndbx.org (via Looking for a WordPress brand? · plaintxt.org).

Of all people, I am sympathetic to this situation: I have been variably dedicated to this blog for a long while now. I thank Scott profoundly for the time and effort he has put into all of these themes; I can imagine how difficult this is for him and wish him all the best.

As for me and this site, I can only hope that these themes are picked up by someone as talented as Scott.
