Teaching and Students

I have been teaching for quite a long time now and the end of term always finds me reviewing the term. Where I teach now, I rarely find myself teaching a student for more than a single year. The kind of relationship that can be developed over a length of time is both valuable for the student and rewarding to the instructor---and I miss those students.

I don't mean those students I teach, but those students that hang around the department: personalities. I mean the kind of student that pulls stunts like this:
