"I am not a citizen of the world," said Gingrich, who was first elected to the U.S. House from Georgia in 1978 and served as speaker from 1995 to 1999. "I am a citizen of the United States because only in the United States does citizenship start with our creator" via PilotOnline.com).I don't even know how to explain how wrong all of this is. It's no wonder that these kinds of Americans think that the antipathy the rest of the world feels for them stems from a 'hatred' of their freedoms. As if this is still the 18th century or there are no other democracies in the world. Quelle arrogance!
